Limoges Feu De Four Porcelain France Dishes Rare Haviland and Company
Limoges Feu de Four Porcelain saucers and plates from Haviland Limoges France. Double fired with gold rims.The most rare and unusual of all Haviland productions. The double firing process was expensive and only produced from 1893 - 1895. The floral, most often poppy decoration was added before the last firing process resulting in subdued colors. Although the porcelain is very delicate. The gold edges are added at the end of the plate production. Very rare and collectible among Haviland collectors.
Assorted sizes and styles of Feu de Four. Two plates have the very rare gold under rim. Designer Markings show Tyndale and Mitchell Philadelphia and Burbank and Douglass. Sizes range from 4.5" to 7.25" in diameter.
