Petite Porcelain Royal Bayreuth Vase Signed Wagner with Gold Gilt Scrolling

$85.00

There is only 1 item left in stock.

A beautiful Royal Bayreuth vase with a dynamic portrait of the "milkmaids" found on many pieces of porcelain art. More than likely created around the turn of the century. The hallmark (known as 2B or "blue mark," also #9/McCaslin) dates it to around 1900, but it has an appearance of freshness and crispness that makes it appear that it was finished yesterday.

The vase is signed Wagner, actually a Viennese family of highly-regarded porcelain artists of the era whose name is synonymous with excellence, particularly with respect to portraits. The signature Wagner appears on numerous works of high value that were produced by the top-ranking manufacturers, including Royal Vienna, Sevres, Royal Bayreuth, KPM, and Hutchenreuther, to name a few.
